Working out with a buddy can be the ultimate motivation boost. Not only do you share the journey, but you also inspire and challenge each other to achieve your fitness goals. Get ready for a high-energy workout with these 5 buddy moves that are worthy of a celebratory high-five!

1. Partner Push-Ups:

  • Start in a plank position facing each other, about arm’s length apart.
  • Lower your bodies into a push-up simultaneously, keeping your core engaged.
  • As you push back up, reach out and high-five your partner with the opposite hand.
  • Repeat for 10-15 reps.

2. Wheelbarrow Planks:

  • One partner starts in a plank position while the other partner holds their ankles.
  • The partner in the plank position walks their hands forward while the partner holding the ankles carefully walks backward.
  • Maintain a straight line from head to heels for both partners.
  • Switch roles and repeat for 1-2 minutes.

3. Squat with Medicine Ball Pass:

  • Stand facing each other with a medicine ball in hand.
  • Simultaneously perform a squat, then as you stand up, pass the medicine ball to your partner.
  • Your partner receives the ball and repeats the squat.
  • Continue passing the ball back and forth for 15-20 reps.

4. Partner Leg Throws:

  • Lie on your back with your legs extended.
  • One partner stands at your feet and gently pushes your legs downward while you resist the motion.
  • Use your core muscles to control the movement.
  • Switch roles and repeat for 1-2 minutes.

5. Buddy Burpees:

  • Stand facing each other.
  • Both partners simultaneously perform a burpee (squat, jump back into a plank, perform a push-up, jump forward, and jump up).
  • When you jump up, give each other a high-five in mid-air.
  • Repeat for 10-15 reps.

Remember to warm up before starting these exercises and cool down with some light stretching afterward. Safety and communication are essential when doing buddy workouts, so make sure you and your workout partner are in sync throughout the movements.

Buddy workouts not only add an element of fun and friendly competition to your fitness routine but also provide the support and encouragement you need to stay motivated and push your limits. So, grab a friend, a family member, or a workout buddy and get ready to give each other a high-five as you crush your fitness goals together!
